According to Federalimentare, over 15% of Italian companies hold at least Halal or Kosher certification.

62% of the companies involved reported an increase in turnover in markets in which they were already operating. Thanks to the acquisition of religious certificates, 64% of them was able to approach new markets: in particular France for Italian food products with Halal certification and USA for Italian food products with Kosher certification.
